Murphy Arts District Opens with Kentucky Head Hunters

Lots of changes happening here in our small town and it all centers around the downtown El Dorado, AR and addition of the Murphy Arts District (MAD). With the official grand opening coming later this week with headliners ZZ Top, Brad Paisley, Train, Migos, Ludicris and others a soft grand opening happened this past Friday night with the Bernice, La blues man Robert (Slim) Finley getting things licked off in unbelievable fashion. As a long time lover of blues music this was an unexpected treat as this guy is the real deal. Such and extremely talented musician and vocalist. Following Robert the Grammy award winning Kentucky Head Hunters hit the stage and did what only they could do bringing El Dorado their brand of southern rock, blues & honkytonk music while performing all their past hits (Walk softly on this heart of mine, Oh lonesome me and of course Dumas Walkers and others).

I am so blessed to have been asked to be the photographer for the meet and greets during this MAD grand opening. This photography job allowed me to meet other celebrities in the past and while all have been polite, well the Kentucky Head Hunter were something else, what a great group of guys they are. Never the one to be bashful I had stuck up a conversation with Richard Young and before we were the evening was done we were recording promo videos for their upcoming European tour. I’m really looking forward to working with all the bands coming in this week, but I can tell you none of them I bet are as down to earth and friendly as these guys. If you ever get a chance to catch the Kentucky Head Hunters live do it! You won’t be disappointed.

Now no photography blog would be complete without some pictures from the night. Hope you enjoy!
